Henry plans Barca stay Frenchman happy in Barcelona

Thierry Henry has ended any rumours of a return to the Premier League by revealing that he wants to retire at Barcelona and endeared himself to fans by stating that Catalunya does not feel Spanish.

The French forward has been linked with several English sides, including Manchester City, but he has reiterated that he has no desire to leave Camp Nou.

Now settled into life in Barcelona, Henry enjoys the lifestyle and the food and will not be looking to make a move in the summer and could happily play out the rest of his career there.

"I would like to do that. I always say that and at times I think people do not listen to me," Henry told La Vanguardia.

Love
"You know, I love this city. We are in February and it is sunny. However hard it was last year, the people in the street were always encouraging me.

"I enjoy the life here and the food is great too."

After more than 18 months in the Catalan capital, Henry has become a firm believer in the Barcelona philosophy and he believes that Catalunya does not feel like Spain.

"What I believe is this; Catalunya is not Spain, it is something else and you have to feel it," he continued.

"Barca is another story. When you come here from Arsenal and there are so many people it is very surprising."

Backing
Henry is a big fan of Pep Guardiola as he puts his message across in a different manner to some coaches and that is one key reason why Barcelona have flourished this term.

"He does not become angry for the sake of it. He is a winner and he only thinks about winning games. I have never had coaches that like to scream and shout," the French international explained.

"The coach shows his annoyance, but in a good way. He has a good reason for it and everyone listens because he speaks clearly. His messages sink in."
